Uniting People for Better Future

Uttarayan is a social association founded in 1978 by Bengalis in Hyderabad. It has grown over the years and is now a well-known socio-cultural organization. They organize various events and programs during festivals like Kali Puja, Diwali, Saraswati Puja, and Bengali New Year. They also have programs for Rabindra Jayanthi, an annual picnic, and a drama festival. Both Bengalees and non-Bengalees participate in their cultural activities. During Kali Puja and Diwali, they have competitions for drama, dance, sports, painting, quiz, and cooking. They also give literary and achievement awards. Uttarayan also engages in welfare activities such as providing relief funds for calamities and donating to orphanages and old age homes. They rely on the support and involvement of their members and patrons and aim to become the most popular socio-cultural organization in Hyderabad and Secunderabad.
